ABOUT US

Who's New in Madison (WNIM) was organized in 1935 to help new residents of Madison become acquainted with their community through shared interests and social activities.  Over the years, in addition to continuing its mission of welcoming new residents to the Madison area, Who’s New in Madison has evolved into an organization that is open to any woman living in the Madison area. This blend of newcomers and longer-term residents has enhanced the opportunities for all to build new friendships and participate in the many activities offered through the organization.

From September through May, the greater Madison area provides a setting for monthly luncheons and programs for our 600+ members.  We also have monthly wine and cheese gatherings on Friday evenings, where a member may bring a spouse, partner, or guest.

The WNIM organization offers a variety of interest groups for members.  Several activities are offered for members who would like to include their spouse, a partner, or a guest.  We offer hiking, biking, card games, book clubs, discussion groups, special interest groups, and Mah Jongg, to name a few.  New ideas for interest groups are always welcome.

Every year the Who’s New Board of Directors selects a non-profit organization to support, among a list of candidates submitted by members.  Various fun activities are planned by the Service Committee for the members to raise funds, such as a Holiday Bazaar, Pickleball and Mah Jongg tournaments, and a Fall Walk.

WNIM is an all-volunteer organization. Consider volunteering for a position on the Board, or on one of the nine committees when you join.

Thank you for your interest in WNIM!
