ACTIVITIES

Who's New in Madison offers a variety of interest groups to promote a feeling of community and friendship. If you don't see one you like, we encourage our members to start one of their own! Most of our interest groups and activities meet in the daytime, but there are a few that meet in the evenings. We also have a few activities that include guests, including spouses or partners.

Interest Groups:

Book Groups
Love to read?  We have many different book groups to choose from, both fiction and non-fiction.

Special Interests

Want to practice your Spanish? Would you love to learn about birds? Or perhaps explore music events with other music lovers. We have groups for a wide variety of interests.

Game Groups
We play bridge, bunco, and euchre, board games, and dominoes on various days of the week.

Discussion Groups
We have different discussion groups throughout the month. Enjoy discussing travel? Want to learn more about diversity? How about current events? Or just making new friends? There is a group for you!

Sewing and Knitting
The Hook, Needle and Stitch group meets to work on various sewing projects-bring the sewing project you choose to this group, from doing your mending to knitting a sweater. Stitch a little, enjoy some snacks and socialize. Chix with Stix is a great group to work on, and learn, about knitting.

Ladies of the Garden
This group meets to discuss gardening, cooking and crafting with produce from the garden. We have speakers and outings to various garden centers.

Foodies
Lunch Adventures meets to explore exotic restaurants in the Madison area. The Cookbook Group gets together for samplings from selected cookbooks. If you love wine, there is a wine tasting group for you.

Mah Jongg
There are many different groups playing Mah Jongg around the community on different days of the week.

Film
Love movies? Join a film discussion group; there are several.

Memoir Writing
Have you always wanted to write your memoir, but haven't quite gotten it done? This group will teach you how to go about getting it written and off your to-do list.

Outdoor Activities
If you want to stay active, we have a place for you. Golf, tennis, pickleball, kayaking, hiking, walking, biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing - we have many different groups to choose from.

Who Wants to Go
This group has no set activity or agenda!  Activities vary based on what members want to do. If you have an idea for an outing or just want someone to join you for an event that interests you, this is a great way to get a group together to go along with you.

Not Just Wine and Cheese:
Enjoy an evening socializing.  Bring your spouse, partner, friend or come alone. Everyone brings an appetizer to share and whatever beverage they want to drink.

Luncheons:

Monthly luncheons occur from September through May, providing an opportunity to socialize with other Who's New members. Guest speakers, musicians, style shows, and holiday bazaars are enjoyed by our members each year at area restaurants and country clubs.

Service Projects:

Each year, Who's New chooses an area non-profit organization and works with them throughout the year to fulfill their needs, as determined by that organization.
