Who's New in Madison offers a variety of interest groups designed to foster a of community and friendship. If you don't see a group that fits your interests, we encourage you to start one of your own!

Most of our interest groups and activities meet during the daytime, though a few meet in the evenings and on weekends. We also have select activities that include guests, including spouses or partners.

Book Groups
Love to read? Choose from a variety of book groups featuring both fiction and non-fiction selections.

Special Interests
Learn about birds, go camping or explore music events with fellow enthusiasts. There’s something for everyone!

Game Groups
Enjoy bridge, bunco, euchre, board games, rummikub and dominoes—played on various days throughout the week.

Discussion Groups
Join engaging conversations on topics like international travel, diversity, current events, or simply connect with others and make new friends.

Sewing and Knitting
The Hook, Needle and Stitch group welcomes all types of projects—from mending to knitting sweaters. Chix with Stix focuses on knitting, whether you're learning or continuing your craft. Beginning Crochet is just that, learn to crochet! Stitch, snack, and socialize!

Ladies of the Garden
Share a love of gardening, cooking, and crafting with homegrown produce. Enjoy guest speakers and outings to local garden centers.

Foodies
Lunch Adventures explores unique restaurants in the Madison area, while the Cookbook Group gathers to sample recipes. Go for morning breakfast or coffee and make new friends. Nighttime Wine lovers can also join a dedicated wine tasting group.

Mah Jongg
Multiple Mah Jongg (Chinese and American) groups meet throughout the community on different days of the week.

Film
Love movies? Join one of several film discussion groups and share your thoughts with fellow movie lovers.

Writing Group
Always wanted to write your story? This group helps guide you through the process of writing your memoir, poetry, short stories and more!

Outdoor Activities
Stay active with groups for golf, tennis, pickleball, yoga, kayaking, hiking, walking, biking, downhill and cross-country skiing.

Who Wants to Go
No set agenda—just fun! Members suggest outings and activities, making it easy to find others who want to join in.

Not Just Wine and Cheese
An evening social event open to members, spouses, partners, and friends. Bring an appetizer and your favorite beverage, and enjoy a relaxed, friendly gathering.


Luncheons

Monthly luncheons are held from September through May, offering opportunities to socialize with fellow members. Enjoy guest speakers, musicians, style shows, and holiday bazaars at local restaurants, hotels and country clubs.


Service Projects

Each year, Who’s New partners with a local non-profit organization, working together to support their needs and give back to the community.
